Plan B, or is it C?

The first major stop on this trip was for the Paducah quilt show. Then we wanted to see various things in and around Bardstown. From there it was Pennsylvania for two stops. Going east thru Kentucky and West Virginia had some challenges. Going north to catch I-70 eastbound solved a lot of problems. Ok we can stay near Indianapolis and visit raceway and museum. Continue traveling east would provide opportunity for football hall of fame. Sounds good so I routed our trip that way.

Well long after reservations made it was learned the Brickyard museum would be closed. Disappointing but we could still do the "kiss the bricks" tour around the track. If that sounds weird you should research traditions and history of the Indy 500 track. Well dang, those tours would not be available when we needed them.

Mary follows a blog of a well known quilter, Bonnie Hunter. (LINK ). it seems some of her quilts were going to be on display at the Quilters Hall of Fame. Where might that be located? Just so happens it is located in Marion Indiana, about 60 miles north of our campsite. Scoring major hubby points for myself, it was off to Marion.

To put it mildly, the lady does great work.

Have I mentioned rain? A year ago in central Texas it never rained, stage 4 drought water restrictions. Not so much on this trip. We have been plagued with rain, sometimes severe, sometimes showers but always W E T!!! We are growing web feet. We drove to Marion in the rain, it is raining now. Looking forward the next 4 stops will be wet. GRRR. But we carry on, determined to make the best of it.

Back home I fill up the truck every other MONTH on average. Pulling the trailer I am getting about 12.5mpg. Depending on distance traveled and sight seeing forays, i am filling up every 2 to 3 days. At $3.60 a gallon today. Ouch, but would be worse in Maggie our former motorhome.

ever onward...
