Closing ceremony

Today marks the end of the Olympics, our version. Been fun and won a silver and bronze. Finally got Mary to play petanque and she did great. The girl came close to winning a medal in the petanque skills contest. The neighborhood is a lot quieter now as many have left. Sunday will bring a mass exodus as people want to get past Houston on a Sunday.

Our thoughts now turn toward preparing to leave. We have one month before our trip and must make a run to Arlington beforehand. Departing May 1 with our return sometime in November. Grand tour of the Pacific Northwest, western Canada and more.

 Stay tuned

Spring time part two

Springtime brings many things. The renewal of nature with color returning to the landscape. In the valley it brings young people to South Padre island to frolic in the sun and sand. It also brings the beginning of the great northern migration. Some of our Canadian friends are leaving this morning. We hope to meet up with them later this year in British Columbia. Many more will leave before April arrives.

Sad to see them go but look forward to their return later this year.

Springtime
