In the fall of 2022 we decided it was time to part way with our beloved Maggie (our name for our motorhome). A tough decision but the correct one for many reasons. We brought her home in late November, emptied out all our stuff, changed out the couch and took her to a consignment lot. We were very fortunate in that she sold quickly.
Us being without some sort of rv was out of the question. We had done plenty of research into what was available based on towing capacity of our truck. The truck is in great shape and we did not want to get bigger truck just so we could buy bigger trailer. We went to a couple of dealers to look at various makes/models and settled on one. There were only three available in the state. Not wanting to buy a new trailer until the motorhome sold we crossed our fingers and waited. When the motorhome sold and we were awaiting funding we purchased our new home on wheels.
Going from a 35ft class A diesel pusher motorhome to a 19ft tow behind travel trailer would present some challenges. With limited storage where does one put all the stuff we had been carrying? Time to decide between necessity and like to have.
As our travel has been restricted due to Mary recovering from total knee replacement surgery. But we have a three day trip coming up next Sunday. We return to South Llano river State Park for first time in 20 plus years. That is quickly followed by a month long trip around Texas.
So the title of this entry has multiple meanings. A new beginning for us in Veronica (name of our new trailer) and a new beginning for this travel blog that has been silent too long
Till the next post...
