A Winters Day

In our quest to get out more, we took advantage of a beautiful January day. We followed scenic/twisty 16 south from Kerrville to Medina. Call it a scouting trip for future Spyder rides. From Medina we went on to Bandera. Bandera is home to a lot of bars and clubs. Not really something we enjoy but we need to explore it further. The way home we went the less scenic Route which took us past Camp Verde. We had been wanting to try out the restaurant since moving to Ingram. Was a gorgeous day in 70's so we enjoyed a great meal outside on patio. No better place to socially distance from others.

A nice spot that we look forward to bringing friends to in the future.

Weekend in San Antonio

Tom and Diane had invited us to come spend the weekend with them. Was a very relaxing and enjoyable time together. We spent Saturday at the Museum of Art, first time there for all of us. In some ways not what expected but the different exhibits were informative. We then went over to Mi Tierra restaurant for late lunch/early dinner. This long time restaurant is in the Mercado area. Was a cold day so we plan to return and explore the area more in depth at a later date.

Thanks Tom and Diane for the hospitality.

What a difference!

We all are looking for 2021 to be different from 2020. Well at least weather wise it is doing so. On December 31st we had a nice snow fall. Only accumulated about an inch but was pretty while it lasted. Fast forward to today, January 4th. High of 77 and clear blue skies. Might as well go fishing!

The best part is I can have the kayak on the water in about 5 minutes.

Positive thoughts

  January 1, 2021

With that date one would hope the shitshow nightnmare of 2020 is behind us. Sadly I doubt that it is on many fronts. The corona virus still rages, the fool(s) on the hill, the never ending election...

2018 was the last year of extended, meaningful travel for us. We are determined to rectify that situation in 2021. Time waits for no man and we have "lost" two years we could not afford to loose. Not sure where we are going, but go we shall. Like last year a short run thru east Texas in March is planned with different stops from last time. Early plans have us leaving early May to parts unknown.

Stay tuned and check back to see where the wind has blown us.

Our first date was in January 1971. I blended two photos to make one comparison shot. The one on left is blown up from those little 3 shot photos you used to get in photo booth for a quarter. Last one I saw took a credit card, not a quarter! On the right we tried to recreate the earlier pose. Not perfect but not a bad effort if i do say so myself.
