BIG Cave

On Monday, April 29th we left Grand Rivers and headed east. Our next stop was Singing Hills campground outside of Cave City. A family owned and run campground. Nothing fancy, but prefer to help small/family run places if state parks not available.

You have probably figured out the reason we stopped here.

If you have paid attention at all in the past, you know I pay homage to people responsible for sites and places we enjoy today.

Mr. Mather could be considered the father of the National Park system.

And we all owe a debt of gratitude to the young Men of the CCC's

Paducah

Paducah is a nice little town on the banks of the Ohio River. Some nice areas in the historic area near downtown. Because it is near the river there exist flood walls to protect the city in times of flooding. The walls make a perfect spot for murals. They have many different murals depicting periods of the history of Paducah. I photographed a few to give you a sense of them.

They have some sort of gates they put in to close the gaps. I noted on one gap they had marked the high water mark and the year

Near the flood wall was an historic area with shops and restaurants.

Being health conscious, we enjoyed a nutritious lunch at one of the shops

All in all a good day

Just a small sample

Breath taking in complexity and detail. As a beginner novice rookie quilter, I am humbled beyond words.

Wow, just wow.
