oops...

In the Aruba post I made mention of sail away after street car. Well I failed to preview the video and thus failed to catch that I did not add it. My bad.

Sail away from Aruba bound for Miami

gathering some rosebuds...

Aruba

Our last stop was Aruba, known for beautiful beaches. While we did not tour all the island what we did see we liked. Would gladly return and spend more time to explore it further.

Enjoy a ride on the streetcar then sail away.

Up next is an extended RV trip leaving May first. Short trip or two to Mansfield and San Antonio before then but otherwise just petanque, volley ball and games of joker.

Bonaire

Bonaire is probably best known for it's world class diving and scuba. The water is crystal clear as you will see in the video. It's main industry is salt production. They have been producing salt here since the days of the slave trade.

It does not have the beautiful beaches of Aruba, nor the pretty city of Curacao. The island is mostly desert with no fresh water. It is flat in the south where they produce the salt, more hilly in north. City and roads in dire need of repair

next stop Aruba

Curacao

Pronounced kur-ah-sow, Curacao met our expectations. Our stop had us in Willemstad, the capitol of the island. While it had some blight, overall a beautiful and unique place.

Full disclosure, I have not previewed the following video. Enjoy, I hope, a walking tour of Willemstad complete with the swinging bridge!

Next stop Bonaire

Amber Cove

Amber cove is a purpose built stop by Carnival in the Republica Dominica. By plan, we had it to ourselves with no other ship. Failed in taking any photos so will give overview.

Been there twice, rained on both times. No plans to visit again.

Half Moon Cay

This a island owned by Carnival cruise lines. We had the place to ourselves being the only ship. For us that made it near perfect. What was not perfect was my pictures and videos. A relaxing day on a beautiful beach.

We were here last year and will be again next year. Fits the bill for our type of cruise. Next stop Amber Cove.

Miami

Our cruise left from Miami so we went down a day early to play tourist. We went to the historic art deco area of South Beach. In doing so we utilized Uber for the first time. Recommend you download the app and try them instead of a cab.

In spite of some issues it was a good cruise. After having said we would not go we signed up for next years cruise.

more later from Half Moon Cay
