Port Townsend

This neat little city began as a seaport, and as you might expect had some rough edges to it. In touring the local museum we learned of all the bars and brothels that lined Water street. It has morphed over the years into a nice tourist destination. A lot of old Victorian styled houses and buildings in a beautiful picturesque setting.

there were many of these colorful baskets along Water St.
We are on the Olympic peninsula so as you would expect we are surrounded by water. So it should not surprise you to learn that ferry's are a big part of life. When we leave here our route takes us northward. That means the Port Townsend-Coupeville ferry.

Yes, we will put Maggie on this ferry
Today we sampled infused olive oil, wine, cider and mead. Yes, some came home...

More to come from this area

You lookin' at me??
