In memoriam
Summer 2018 map
In his book Tom Brokaw called them "the Greatest Generation", if you are a baby boomer we are talking about your parents. Those people born in the 1910's and 1920's in general. These people went thru a lot, but did not talk about those trials. I had the honor of knowing one them. Bob Hambric
We are in possession of paper work that document some of those efforts. First off if you have read any of my post you know my feelings about the work of the CCC's. We have enjoyed their work at many parks in the past, and many more to come in the future. Bob served in the CCC's, in fact he served specifically at a camp doing work at South Mountain park in Phoenix Arizona.

While we do not know exactly what Bob worked on around 80 years ago, Mary definitely trod the same ground. Looking out over Phoenix now, one can only wonder what view Bob saw.
Second point is finding Bob's complete service log. We have the flight logs from training, to crossing the Atlantic, to flying the "hump. Mary has been able to see and touch the type of plane her Dad flew.
Bob was my friend and we had many long talks. Oh how I wish I could talk to him now.
We are in Cottonwood Arizona for a couple of days. Will visit Sedona and some historical sites tomorrow.
