Canyon day #2

Two goals for today, sunrise photos and hike part of Bright Angel trail. Sunrise at 6:03 am but I made it. Was a fog or haze in canyon so disappointed in my photos. We got close to trail head before thunderstorm chased us inside. Just went thru a sleet storm that is now snow/rain mix. We are at around 6500 ft elevation so no real surprise.

While it is nice to see the elk roaming thru camp ground, deeper inspection is a little sad. They look poorly coming out of winter. They roam thru park looking for anything green as the surrounding woods are severely overgrazed.

We leave on Tuesday so more opportunities, weather permitting.

Even in the cold rain, not a bad place to be.
