Well the weather forecasters were correct as it was a dreary day. No heavy rain, just occasional showers and gloomy.
Tried editing this video but for some reason weird things kept happening. Because of that this is the raw version showing our campground.
Quilt week tomorrow
Drier, warmer weather in the next few days. Would prefer cooler but drier
soggy rosebuds...

2 rivers
From the RGV it takes two days to reach the state line. Last year we were in the 4 corners region, a unique experience. Came close today. Three states in under 5 minutes. Except for adding titles, video is unedited. Had the camera sitting on dash so it picked up reflections and noise. Not that noisy in the coach. In addition speed was not as fast as it seems plus the wide angle lens gives the appearance of driving down center of lane which I did not.

Day 46
We have finally moved into a new state so can color it in on the states visited map.
TRAVEL MAP
A couple of views of where we are.
We will be spending some time exploring the LBL area. More FOUND HERE. But more important to Mary is the following MUSEUM and this QUILT STORE. Now, if that was not enough it so happens our stay in the area is the same time as THIS EVENT. The girl will be quilters heaven and I will be unsupervised. Many other places and things to see, explore and learn from so check back later.
Hurricane Harvey chased us to Arkansas. It is only right that Irma should pay us a visit in Kentucky. Heavy rain predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday but should pose no problems.
Gathering rosebuds in a new state for us. Video of this great site later

lake wappapelo
Thought you might enjoy a little glimpse of lake Wappapello. Have enjoyed it here. Not sure we will ever be this way again, but if so would definitely stay here again. Quiet and peaceful with nice campsites. Our next campsite will have a better view but with closer neighbors. Difficult to have everything.
Yes, I know. Quit the video and drive...

Day 40
Well I was wrong. There were 8 other campers with us last night. Some new yesterday, some have already left this morning, two new have already arrived. Changing of the guard.
Speaking of change, fall is in the air. Yesterday the temperature reached low 90's, today's high in the 70's. Not much rain from the frontal passage last night. Our walk around the park sure felt good earlier. Will do more laps later.
I have a request to make. If you are reading this please leave a comment. At the end of the post just click on comment. Two reasons for this request, one personal the other technical. Changed some settings and am curious if they work. Comments not moderated so feel free to say whatever.

Day 39
The exodus began eary this morning. If you were going to break camp and leave by 7am not sure why they spent the night. Local people, not passing thru folks. Bet there are only 2 or 3 besides us and the host by nightfall.
See anything unusual?
Somebody came and played in our fire pit last night, the paw print(s) are proof.
That is all from Lake Wobegone
Remember the good folks in Rockport and Port Aransas, with the focus on Houston they seem to have been forgotten.
