Tyler State Park parting shots

The all day storms with torrential rains altered our plans. In between storms i did catch a nice bass of about 2 lbs. Alas i failed to bring my camera so dear reader you will have to trust me. Now for a mix of the old, the new and the missing.

Like many parks Tyler was started by our friends the CCC's in the '30s. We are forever in their debt.

What did you plan for today?

Best laid plans of mice and men is the old saying I believe. Mother nature really doesn't care about your plans.

Got a good book handy?

Day 2

Friday found us relocating to Tyler state park. A wonderful park we had been to many times. It was a shorter day drive that was uneventful for the most part. There was a bad wreck on I-20 that had traffic backed up for several miles.

After getting settled in our spot it was on to drinks and dinner with our good, long time friends Cheryl and Mike.

Day 1

After a 250 mile day we arrived safely in Navarro Mills. Oak park to be more exact. COE park so priced right with our old farts pass. Rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, hope they are wrong. Just a one night stay so no touristy stuff. Love COE parks as a rule but the shower/bathroom for this area is deplorable. Luckily we have our own so no worries.

Plans, but flexible

Have you ever planned a multi month camping trip? It ain't easy. Where to go, things to see, distance per day, where to stay. Can you stay where you want to? All issues that must be reconciled into a cohesive, fun trip. Have worked on this upcoming trip for months. Some locations require reservations months in advance, both camping spots and things you want to see and visit. Having said all that, even now this trips itinerary is in flux. Some planned attractions being dropped, new ones added.

2024 tour

Time is drawing near for our trip. Thought posting a picture of stops and points of interest would be appropriate as we wait.
